Celebrating 30 years of Friendship

One of our former distillery managers had a vision in 1994. He knew we had something that needed to be shared with the world – not just bottles of Laphroaig, but the spirit that made it. Hundreds of thousands of people who love the magic of Islay and special rapport that comes with it.   

And so, the Friends of Laphroaig community was born. Three decades on, it’s one of the world’s biggest and best whisky communities, represented by over 180 countries. 

While we’re very proud of our community’s history, its future excites us too - we want to continue growing our loyal family of enthusiasts.

Friends of Laphroaig is completely free to join and full of surprises for those who deserve a little extra. For starters, you’ll receive your very own honorary square foot plot of land at our Islay distillery – and it’s yours for life.  We promise a warm welcome if you’re ever able to visit and see it for yourself – as a Friend, there’s a dram on us waiting with the lease.
